          MEASUREMENTS

It is best to have someone else take your measurements for you.  You may have a professional seamstress take your measurements.  Taking your measurements yourself often results in inaccuracies so if you can't get to a seamstress, ask a friend to help you.

Bridal manufacturers determine the size of their wedding gowns by using three main measurements:  bust, waist and hips.  When comparing your measurements to a size chart, select carefully.  You will not wear the same size as your normal street clothes.  You can expect to go up in size, normally one to two sizes.  Don't worry about it.  No one will know what size you choose.

Do NOT pull the tape too tightly  Breathe   You want the tape close to you and not tight.

Look carefully at the dress you are purchasing.  If the dress is a Mermaid or Fit & Flare, your hip measurement will be the most important.  If it is an A-line or ballgown, your bust and waist  will be the most important.

All gowns will require some alterations, they will need a nip and tuck here and there to fit you perfectly.

Bust:  This is NOT your bra size You need to take this measurement with your bra ON.  Run the measuring tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust.

Waist:  This is your natural waistline -- not where you wear your jeans.  It is the smallest part of your waist -- typically right above your belly button

Hips:  Measure the widest part of your hips -- make sure to keep the tape level

While we offer this information to help in this area, we cannot choose the size for you and cannot be held responsible if you are not happy with the size you choose. Proper fit is subjective and individual -- one person may like a dress tighter than another'

Other girls are looking for a comfortable fit
